Why AVAS Matters
Buyers are changing how they research suppliers. AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google Search are becoming part of that process. Most industrial companies assume they appear in those results. Many do not.
What AVAS Is
AVAS is a diagnostic that measures whether and how your company appears during that research. It answers one question: if a buyer searches for what your company does, will AI systems recommend you? From there, it measures three things:
Visibility
Do you show up at all?
Positioning Strength
When you do appear, are you buried in a list, or presented as a strong option?
Coverage Gaps
Where are you missing completely, across capabilities, industries, or buyer scenarios?
Why SEO Alone Isn't Enough
For years, SEO helped companies rank higher in search results because buyers used search engines to find suppliers. Today, buyers increasingly use AI to research, compare, and evaluate companies before contacting sales. Ranking well on Google is still valuable, but it no longer guarantees your company will be recommended when AI answers a buyer's question.
How AVAS Works
Each test uses natural buyer questions written the way a real buyer would ask them. No bias is built in.
Each test runs across major AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Claude, Grok, and Google Search. Each platform is checked independently in incognito mode so prior searches, stored history, or personalization do not influence the results.
Every response is reviewed to show which companies appear, how often they appear, how they are described, and which competitors are recommended instead.
Results are scored using the same standard every time, ranging from not mentioned to clearly recommended.
The combined results show where your company is being found consistently, where its presence is weak, where it is not being found, and where competitors have an advantage.
What Makes AVAS Different
It reveals the real competitive field. Competitors are not selected in advance. The diagnostic shows which companies AI platforms find and recommend, and which companies are most consistently represented in your category.
It measures recommendation, not just mention. Appearing somewhere in a list is not the same as being presented as a credible supplier. It shows which companies AI platforms find and recommend, which competitors appear most consistently, and whether a company is merely mentioned or presented as a serious option.
What You Get
AVAS does not stop at identifying the problem. It shows where the company is being overlooked, which competitors are being recommended instead, and which evidence gaps are likely contributing to the result.
- Immediate clarity: Are we being found or not? Where are we being overlooked?
- Competitive insight: Who is being recommended instead of us? Who is winning visibility in our category?
- Evidence-gap diagnosis: What published evidence may be missing or too weak for buyers and AI platforms to find, understand, and trust?
